i like the look of the shadow… but honestly i just now had looked athese all LW’s and I really like the LW Nightstar… pretty good looking guns, all have stainless barrels so should be no issue rusting, and well they’re not bad for the price either…
Yea I was never worried about it rusting myself ![]()
Sweet. I just love 1911’s
When I was 19 years old I was introduced to a worn out 1911A1, l failed to quality. The Range NCO said " clear your weapon and step back". He ran a mag thru it and failed to hit the Silhouette at 50 meters. Cleared it then shook it vigorously…you could hear a rattle barrel/ bushing. Issued another and l qualified with a big smile of relief.
I know I’ll never be able to wear one out in my lifetime. Like you said yours probably was a bushing gone bad.
i like those new shoes… especially the coloring on the one on the bottom. very nice sir.
Altamont grip company. Thank you sir.
Got any good stories behind those 2 @19foxtrot
The top one is a Tisas not even broke in. The Colt is a 1964 build and the story behind it was almost tragic/deadly for me when l was 15 yrs old. It was my Uncles that he bought new at a rod/gun club when he was in the service. He never shot it much at all, less than a box of rounds. So in 1974/75 my Uncle, dad and myself go upstairs to his bedroom to look at this Colt 1911. He clears the pistol and hands it to me. After l held it l handed it to my Dad, he does the same and looks it over. Then gives it back to my Uncle. He inserts the mag ,pulls the slide back and “Pop!!!”. Misses my head by inches, blows out a antique dresser mirror, through a plaster wall, through a oak bedroom door, travels over the heads of my 3 sisters & cousin, smacks a oak closet door and the slug drops to the floor. My ears are ringing, glass everywhere and here comes my Aunt and my mother screaming! After collecting what happened and trying to read my Aunts lips…well it looked ugly. Wasn’t my time or any other’s to be called away that day!
In 2001 a month after 9-11 my Uncle gave me that .45 in his bed dieing of cancer. True story
Wow holy cow what history you have with that beautiful piece. And so the 1911 love affair began. She’s definitely one that I’m sure will stay in the family for quite awhile.
I haven’t seen that Tisas model. Which one is it? It looks a lot like the 70 series satin finish.
The Tanker… parkerized. I think that’s right. Seen it at my local FFL when l was picking up my first Dagger compact. Price was right. I had already been reading about them, the reviews, PSA included, YouTube ect. I have a stainless 22 Kimber slide l run with it. My word…fun fun fun!
I pulled this one out of the safe tonight and Wow😲
Not really sure why I’ve never paid more attention to this one. I think she’s just too pretty.

@19foxtrot
Just a basic RIA GI 45 I’ve added houge rubber grips and some mec gar 8 round mags. It my first 1911 I like it so far.
Mine above is made by Tisas in Turkey and imported by SDS in Tennessee. They are a great value for 1911’s that cost twice as much.
