Most underrated weapon you own

I’m a Taurus revolver buyer and fan. They are made across the river from me in Georgia

Probably my Taurus G3C. It was like $225 after the rebate and I bought it specifically to leave in my truck at baseball games or parking garages. I’ve run probably 500 rounds through it and it’s flawless. I hate the grips but I don’t plan to body carry it ever so I don’t care.

I’m with you. Admittedly I don’t own any Taurus semis, but I love their wheelguns. Currently have a 689 and a 605.

my Ruger LCP max in 380, goes in my pocket everywhere. I know 380 is not 9mm or 45ACP, it is something I can carry and no one knows it’s there. When you have to wear slacks and a tucked in shirt for work this is not obvious at all…

it is the up close, get the hell out of here gun. no reliability issues at all.

Pocket carry is like democracy. It’s the worst form of carry, except for all others. All the negatives are well known, but man, you can’t beat the ease of use or “program compliance” as Paul Harrell likes to say. There’s no reason not to carry. The LCP Max is the perfect gun for that.

My most underrated is by no means unpopular or unloved: the Ruger 10/22. Perhaps underappreciated is a better word than underrated. Everyone seems to think of it as a plinker or toy or kid’s gun, but how many of us came to our collective love of things that go bang from that rifle? (or something very similar) I bet the 10/22 is responsible for more people becoming fans of guns than any other firearm ever.

To add to that, I’ve argued forever the 10/22 would be a perfectly fine “one gun to own”/home defense gun for 99% of people. It’s cheap, it’s reliable, it’s extremely simple to use and maintain, and it isn’t intimidating at all even for the most novice of shooters.

Internet hardos will go on and on and on about potential circumstances and how you’ll get killed in your own back yard if you’re running anything less than being fully kitted out with Lv 4 plates, a 12lb AR with $3000 worth of optics and accessories, and NVGs, but at the end of the day, nobody is going to stand there and take it while you’re rapidly and accurately putting 25 rounds of .22LR at anywhere from 1200-2200 FPS down range…and the 10/22 feeds and fires rimfire as reliably as you’re gonna get in a semi.

I wouldn’t argue the 10/22 is underrated at all. Underappreciated? Most definitely.

Underrated?
Our Heritage 6 in .22 with the adjustable sights.
It accuracy surprised me as I mostly bought it to train the grandkids with.
Out shoots the S&W MP .22 easily.

.22 new

Plus one on the Heritage revolvers.
The most underrated, under advertised gun right now is the Beretta APX A1. It is a modern striker fired QUALITY pistol with all the latest tech including optic cut. They go for $399/$299 with rebate until the end of the year. I haven’t seen a mediocre/poor/bad review on them. I follow Beretta on a few social media platforms and they never mention this firearm.

Welcome to the forums @bstephanoff

I went through the Canadian border yesterday and the immigration officer had an APX. It jumped out because I saw the Beretta logo but a weird striker on the rear of the slide. I asked, she thought I was going to “be a problem,” and it was good fun all around.
