Replacing the housing for firing pin/spring inside slide

I had to use a lot of force to slide mine out. I used a punch for more leverage. Don’t recommend that unless you want to cut your hand. If you put it in a vice and have something soft as a target, gently tap it out.

Got it out, just needed a couple of light taps on each side.

I didnt take mines completely apart once the spring and back come off, it slides out that way.

Since the firing pin housing is made of plastic, I wonder if it’s possible to 3d print a replacement.

Have a plunger MIA because of that right there.

Definitely remove the optic unless you’re sure the screws aren’t acting as set screws.

FollowMyReality, mine looks like yours. I’m not sure how it would affect the functioning of the firearm. It’s not a moving part, but just to be on the safe side here is what I did.

I tried to push the broken part of the plastic back into place. I was successful on one side, the other the piece broke off. I had to tape the side of the one that broke off then I filled both cavities with UV resin (Bondic). Hit it with the UV light to cure it. Re-assembeled it and fired a handful of rounds just to make sure it functioned properly.

I’ve emailed manufacturing a few times. I’ll try calling them today again. Unfortunately I am playing the waiting game as well.

I have the same issue with mine. I am also having FTE issues. BTW it did not take any force to break through that thin plastic.

Score!!! Ordered 2 since i messed up 2 different striker housing (didnt noticed until i went to clean). Light at the end of the tunnel. :100:

Anyone know if the Slide Cap Plunger is included with this? If not is there a plan to make that part available as well?

Say this only included one half of the housing assembly. Still missing part number p17-0005-00 :pensive:

This only included part number P17-0004-00. No plunger or the other half p17-0005-00. I see some people been asking about the plungers, whats been happening to yalls that you need a replacement?

Be very careful removing the Slide Cap. I did it inside, found the spring but I still think the plunger is in orbit somewhere. Might have speared that balloon had it been same time frame.

 Yeah im fully aware of that plunger going into orbit. Luckily i found mines so im good on that. Hopefully they list more parts soon. Im bummed they only have 1 side of the striker housing available. How they didn’t sell as a pair is beyond me.

Really? I thought it was both.

Nope. It only includes half. Its 2 parts that are needed to complete the housing

I looked it back up and you’re right, doesn’t make much sense to me either. Replace one wiper blade?

It’s the old left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.
