Will PSA perma-fix a magazine and pin it to 10 rounds for NY state compliance if requested?

I am looking to purchase a rifle in the AK family and options are extremely sparse for us NY customers.

Would I be able to choose any rifle on the website and request a fixed magazine+10 round limit modification?

I believe the FFL you have it shipped to would do this, if they have a gunsmith.

I’d ask them as well.

I dont believe PSA will do that.

I’m also in a magazine restricted communist state.

PSA reps have told me that in cases where a compliant magazine isn’t available, they will still ship the gun, same price, but without any magazine.

Finding a compliant mag is then on you…but at least you have the firearm.

I am kind of confused about this grey area:

Will my NY FFL even accept shipment of a “non-compliant” gun without a magazine or let alone hand it to me with no magazine? Or do I have to have the pinned/fixed mag in place before the FFL will accept shipment or hand it to me?

I’m wondering if the best thing I can do is find an FFL that is willing to modify any gun I choose for compliance, order the mag-less gun, order a mag separately, and then have both sent to the FFL for modification. Huge headache, but is this the proper way to do it?

Just a suggestion. Talk to the FFL you are going to use as they should be able to answer those questions a lot better than any of us could.

Also, I’ve yet to buy an AR with any magazine.

I find my magazines locally.
