The OPF-M17, Acro is a newly introduced component in our optics platform, forward controls (OPF) series, crafted from 4140 steel and finished with a black oxide coating. In this application, we deliberately avoid using aluminum, opting instead for steel, as we believe steel plates are more compatible with steel screws. Although 4140 steel is more expensive and requires longer machining times, we extensively utilize it across various products. We prioritize reliability and durability over lightweight properties for this application. The OPF-M17, Acro serves as a direct adapter for the exceptional Aimpoint Acro sights. It is crucial to secure the loaded chamber indicator (LCI) with your finger or tape during the removal of the plate from the slide, as the LCI spring is small, fragile and prone to damage. The OPF-M17, Acro is identical to the tangodown SSM-01. While we generally avoid rebranding, we make exceptions for outstanding products that align with our values and those of their manufacturers. We have a longstanding relationship with tangodown, proudly distribute their products and are honored to brand the SSM-02 as the OPF-M17, ACRO.
