Originally designed to cater to the American market, the SUP (universal self-loading pistol) has achieved worldwide acclaim for its precision and unwavering reliability. Drawing inspiration from features favored by us law enforcement and military personnel, it incorporates uniquely American controls influenced by iconic designs such as the Government model 1911 pistol. More than three decades ago, HK revolutionized handgun production with the VP70Z and P9S pistols by pioneering the use of polymer materials. The SUP proudly showcases this innovation with its fiber-reinforced polymer frame, reinforced by stainless steel inserts in high-stress regions. Notably, the SUP distinguishes itself with a frame-mounted control lever, serving both as a safety and decoking lever, a departure from the slide-mounted safeties commonly found in many semi-automatic pistols. Equipped with a modified Browning-type action and a patented recoil reduction system, the SUP effectively mitigates recoil impacts on pistol components and minimizes perceived recoil forces for the shooter. This system's reliability has been rigorously tested and validated through the HK mark 23 pistol designed for the U.S. Special operations Command. It remains resilient to ammunition variations, requiring no specialized adjustments or maintenance and operates seamlessly across all SUP models. The Up's modular internal component design offers adaptability, allowing the control lever function to shift from left to right, accommodating left-handed shooters.
