Originally tailored for the American market, the SUP (universal self-loading pistol) has earned a global reputation for its precision and unwavering reliability. Its design incorporates features preferred by us law enforcement and military personnel, featuring uniquely American controls influenced by iconic designs like the Government model 1911 pistol. HK pioneered the use of polymer materials in handgun production over 30 years ago with the VP70Z and P9S pistols, employing a fiber-reinforced polymer frame strengthened by stainless steel inserts in high-stress areas. The SUP sets itself apart with a frame-mounted control lever, serving as both safety and decoking lever, a departure from slide-mounted safeties common in many semi-automatic pistols. Equipped with a modified Browning-type action and a patented recoil reduction system, the SUP effectively mitigates recoil impacts on pistol components and minimizes perceived recoil forces for the shooter. This system's durability has been rigorously tested and validated through the HK mark 23 pistol designed for the U.S. Special operations Command.
