Features

While we are fond of the brass tradition begun by B.T. Henry's 1860 rifle, we do understand that today's hunter may prefer something a shade lighter on the mountain, and the 2015 introduction of the Big Boy steel carries on the same brush gun appeal of the brass framed Big Boys in its overall configuration, but with upgraded features for the modern hunter, while weighing in 1.68 lb less than its cousin. The 7 lb steel Big Boy hangs its 20 inches round barrel and checkered walnut furniture on a matte finished blued steel frame that's drilled and tapped for optional scope mounts, and uses the same adjustable western style sights as the standard Big Boy, with the same sliding transfer bar safety system in its hammer. Most of the weight savings is due to the steel frame being lighter than a brass counterpart to begin with, and less steel in the thinner barrel walls than an octagon version. To make sure the steel Big Boy stays easy on the shoulder in any of its three calibers, the 327 Fed Magnum/32 H&R Magnum, we use a black solid rubber recoil pad. For hands free hiking up or down, it wears sling swivel studs, and we've also added a rifle style fore-end cap instead of the usual carbine type barrel band. A perfect choice for the new straight walled cartridge hunting laws in Ohio, Indiana, Southern Michigan, and those pending in other areas, with its subdued no-spook-em dark finish and easy-to-maneuver dimensions, we've got that brand new deer rifle you've been looking for right here. And, the 2015 success of the Big Boy steel model led to the 2016 introduction of the Big Boy steel carbine, in the same three calibers, with the same blued frame and round barrel, this time in 16.5 inches length. It comes with our glove friendly oversized lever, and a 7 round magazine capacity. Nearly a half pound lighter, and with an overall length of 34 inches, this is one trim partner to your favorite revolver in any of those three calibers, and it's a great compact trailgun on its own.

  • Target, hunting and large game
