Hornady .222 Remington Superformance Varmint ammunition loaded with a 50 grain polymer-tip V-MAX bullet delivers ultimate performance and increased muzzle velocity up to 200 fps in every rifle (3345 fps compared to the average conventional velocity of 3110 fps for .222 Rem 50 grain).An extension of the original Hornady Superformance hunting ammunition, this round applies the same propellant technology to smaller caliber cartridges. The propellant is completely burned by the time the bullet exits the muzzle, increasing accuracy with no increased muzzle wear or operating pressures. This technology reduces muzzle blast, muzzle flash, and wind drift while increasing the range with match accuracy. The polymer tip of the V-MAX projectile gives the round an extremely aerodynamic profile, increasing its in-flight stability and ballistic coefficient with expedited fragmentation. Superformance Varmint ammunition is non-corrosive and safe to use in all action types, including semi-autos.
