As the 6.5 Creedmoor gains popularity in competitive shooting, the .260 Remington is also seeing increased demand for match-grade solutions. In response, Lapua offers two factory-loaded cartridges designed to excel at distances up to 1000 m and beyond. The .260 Remington is loaded with the 8.8 g (136 grain) Scenar-L bullet, which has been a staple for midrange and long range precision since its introduction in 2013. Both calibers are C.I.P. approved and deliver similar performance in terms of muzzle velocity and accuracy. While the .260 Remington has a slightly shorter maximum overall length compared to the 6.5 Creedmoor, it still provides exceptional results. The key difference lies in the primer: the 6.5 Creedmoor uses a small Rifle Primer, whereas the .260 Remington features a Large Rifle Primer pocket.
