The Xtreme Defense fluid transfer monolithic (XD FTM) technology is revolutionizing the perception of self-defense ammunition. Unlike conventional hollow-point bullets, the Xtreme Defense is not adversely affected by penetrating barriers such as drywall or heavy clothing before reaching the intended target. The key lies in the nose design. The radial flutes of the fluid transfer mechanism direct hydraulic energy inward and as this energy is constrained, it accelerates outward, creating high-pressure spikes that severely damage surrounding tissue. This rapid increase in fluid flow induces cavitation and extensive tissue damage, comparable to the leading hollow points available. Consequently, the Xtreme Defense produces a permanent wound cavity that is two to four times larger than that of flat or round nose bullets and often exceeds the size of traditional or solid copper expanding bullets. This results in a self-defense bullet capable of penetrating barriers without deformation or trajectory alteration, while creating a larger permanent wound cavity and achieving the desired 18 inches of penetration.
