Features
This single-component adhesive is specifically designed for bonding cylindrical fitting parts, particularly those with narrow bond gaps up to 0.25mm (0.01 inches). It offers rapid curing on all metals, including passive substrates such as stainless steel. For a high-strength retaining compound suitable for all metals, including passive substrates, consider using Loctite 638. This product delivers excellent high-temperature performance and good oil tolerance, with a fixture time of just four minutes and a gap-filling capability ranging from 0.15mm to 0.25mm (0.006 inches - 0.01 inches). It can also withstand minor surface contaminants, including industrial oils. With its high viscosity, it is ideal for use with shafts, gears, pulleys and similar cylindrical components and is also suitable for high-strength threadlocking and thread sealing applications. The operating temperature range is -55 deg C to 180 deg C (-65 deg F - 355 deg F). Loctite 638 complies with the performance requirements of KIWA Gastec QA AR 214 for admixtures up to and including 100% hydrogen gas on metal threaded fittings, with certifications available in select countries.
