Traditionally, the AR-15 platform was optimized for the .223 Remington and 5.56x45mm cartridges, while the AR-10 was tailored for the .308 Win/7.62 NATO rounds. With the introduction of high-performance cartridges like the 6.5 Creedmoor, bore pressure remains elevated further along the barrel. By strategically relocating the gas port, the design ensures that the gas system pressure aligns with the original specifications of the AR platforms. This innovation results in a significantly softer recoil impulse, reduced fouling in the receiver, enhanced extraction reliability and minimized wear on brass. These improvements help maintain focus on the target and allow full utilization of the benefits of cutting-edge high-performance cartridges.
