What is the carrier made of? And is it HPT?
Josiah B on May 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: 8620 steel. Almost all carriers are which is mil spec.
Is this a mil spec BCG??
Arley A on Jun 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, this bcg is NOT milspec. A milspec bcg will have a bolt made from carpenter 158 steel. This bcg has a bolt made from 9310 steel. Depending on who you ask, 9310 is better. 9310 is said to be a tougher steel. They also use 9310 steel in .308 bcg's because it is a tougher steel than carpenter 158, and .308's are more powerful than 5.56's. So, I like the bcg's with the 9310 steel better than milspec. They'll both work in an AR that is made to milspec. And, I think that is what PSA means when they say all their stuff is milspec. Because, it will work in a rifle that is milspec.
Will this work for a 224 vakrie?
Codger on May 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No. The .224 Valkrie uses a larger case than the 5.56mm and requires a 6.8 SPC bolt and magazine.

Cmon a quality nickel boron bcg for under a hundred bucks. I have built 3 ar pistols and a mid-length rifle and all but one has had a nickel boron bcg from PSA. They look awesome and reliability has been 100% .

Great product, great price
I have 3 of these and will continue to upgrade the rest of my rifles to them. On my most used rifle I have shot about 1800 rounds so far, cycles flawlessly (even when dirty). Cleans up nicely too.
