The new and improved Palmetto State Armory PA10 Gen3 .308 lower is fully assembled and ready for your complete PA10 Gen3 Upper!

Based on customer feedback we are pleased to announce the Gen 3 PA-10 Complete Lower Receiver! Using forged 7075-T6 aluminum, these lowers are precision machined and then black anodize hard coated to MIL-8625 Type 3 Class 2 specifications.  This complete lower will include a popular EPT fire control group with A Magpul MOE Stock and PSA Overmolded Pistol Grip. The PSA PA10 allows the same configuration flexibility as enjoyed by the AR15 and is an ideal platform for the .308 cartridge.

Gen 3 enhancements at a glance:

  • Lower includes relief cuts for a broader compatibility with .308 BCG’s.
  • Twice staked castle nuts
  • Standardized carbine length buffer tube with short, heavy buffer

The Gen3 PA10 receivers are functionally compatible with the Gen1 and Gen2 upper receivers, however, we recommend matching Gen3 lowers to Gen3 uppers for best appearance and performance.  There are external cosmetic differences when mixing Gen1 with Gen2 and Gen3 upper and lower receivers that some may not find appealing.

The AR10 platform does not enjoy a common design between manufacturers, like the AR15. As a result, there can and will be subtle differences in the parts kits of various manufacturers. Some parts, like the fire control group, are shared with the AR15 platform to preserve the options for upgrading. For best results, we recommend only using PSA PA10 parts with our uppers and lower receivers. We do not recommend using other manufacturers parts in our products.

BEST ANSWER: Yes
Is this Gen 3 PA-10 lower compatible with a Gen 2 PA-10 upper?
Todd C on Aug 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: not hardly so far
Will this work with 6.5 creedmore uppers?
matthew l on Aug 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: PSA 6.5 Creedmore uppers yes...others might not, since the AR10 is not as standardized as the AR15 is...
Is this the standard LR308 platform still? Or does Gen 3 mean it's a different version and won't work with the previous? DPMS compatible design for Gen 1 or Gen 2?
William W on Aug 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It will 'work' with the Gen2. I won't say regarding Gen1 but I suspect it will also from what I have seen others say.
Is this PA10 Gen3 .308 available at the store range to try out?
Scott L on Aug 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: A quick call to the store range will absolutely answer your question.
Does this come with a magazine? If so, how many rounds (as my state has no restrictions)? If not, then which magazine is recommended to work with this?
Brandon on Aug 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No magazine included. I use Magpul PMAG LR/SR Gen 3 20 round magazines with great success. I use 10 rounders when bench shooting for easier clearance.
What is the difference between the gen 2 & the gen 3 lower?
Kyle T on Aug 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Watch the video! It explains all the changes with the gen 3 uppers and lowers.
is this lower a multi so you could add a pistol brace to it
?
spinner on Aug 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Photo shows receiver marked "Multi". However, having a Multi marked lower receiver has nothing to do whatsoever with making this a pistol vs rifle. Multi indicates that is it compatible with 'multiple calibers'.
Will this lower mate with the PSA GEN 3 PA 65 20" 6.5 Credmoor w BCG & CH ?
John C on Aug 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello,

Yes, it will!

I have to send mine back, recommended Gen3 mags will not work. Never gets past the second shot without a feed fail jam up with every other mag I have tried. PSA gen3 lower on a PSA gen 2 upper is a bad mix. It does make one helluva single shot though!!!!

Good value even though I didn't wait for sale
Just got and pushed in the pins with a PSA 18" gen 3 upper I ordered at same time.

Fired 80 rounds using a UTG 3-12x44 shooting Tula 168 rn soft point. (first 15 were to zero scope) Accuracy was OK, typical for how I shoot. I was getting right at 2-2.5"inch groups with 10 shots at 65 yards if you ignore the occasional 1-2 zinger that was my fault for pulling. That doesn't mean this isn't a 1 MOA gun with a better scope and better quality ammunition on a day when its not sunny and 90 temp/90 humidity in the middle of a field. Most folks that take firearms seriously shoot better than I do.

I had one malfunction where round ejected but a new round did not feed(dry fired). I also had another malfunction that was a super light primer strike because the round was not fully seated, but I don't remember the particular reason why, probably something got in the way when I was charging. I remember knowing it didn't feed forward right and using the forward assist but I guess it wasn't hard enough. I was using one 10 round pmag lr/sr and another pmag 25 with the window.

My perception was the action on the gun is very tight. What I mean by that is the tolerances are very close, not that it will bind up. It's actually tighter than my preference and its going to need to have a lot of rounds put through to break it in where the action feels "slick" and heavier lubrication is probably going to help reliability. Everything feels quality overall.

My one issue with this PSA is the bolt hold back. If there is a last round hold open, it's not working with my Pmags when I'm shooting.

The way I shoot is to ALWAYS have the bolt held back before I insert a new mag no matter the firearm to avoid getting habits that will lead to "glock drop." The bolt hold open doesn't engage very well when I manually press the bottom of paddle on my lower to my PSA bolt and just touching the gun is enough to trip it forward as it sits on a table. Picking it up and moving it will definitely trip the bolt forward. This makes it very awkward for me to reload and I'm sure it's not supposed to be that sensitive. I tried to upload video but I don't do YouTube.

Overall I would purchase this again.
