What things could I put on this to show people at the range that I am serious and maybe even make jealous?
nite f on Jun 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thousands and thousands of rounds and hours and hours of range time.
Am I correct here? If I purchased this item to build an AR-10, the only missing from the kit is the lower frame, so I could purchase item 516445318 when available and would have everything needed for a functional rifle?

BEST ANSWER: A magazine and ammo and your gonna need a rear sight or some sort of optics. And there you go
Can this be ordered without the fixed front sight?
Tin G on Aug 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, you will need to order a kit a with a free float hand guard. PSA has several options.
Is this kit compatable with 7.62 nato or just .308?
kyle p on Mar 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: AR10 is backwards from AR15 compatibility. .223 cannot shoot 5.56, but 5.56 can shoot .223
AR10 with a .308 barrel can shoot both .308 Winchester and 7.62X51 NATO, but a 7.62X51 NATO barrel cannot shoot .308 Win.
.308 Win pressure is 62,000 PSI and 7.62X51 NATO is 55,000 PSI.
I have this same kit and I shoot both .308 Win and 7.62X51 NATO.
Is there a carry handle/sight assembly compatible with this rifle available? My DPMS carry handle doesn’t match up.
David J on Nov 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There are AR 10 upper carry handle/sites,. Example,. Stag Arms sales one labeled as a AR 10. Lately they have even had some of the blem ones.
I realize that not all uppers fit all lowers... depending upon the brand of the lower. Will this PA10 upper fit a polymer 80 frame..without modifications? Has anyone put this PA10 upper on a Polymer 80 plastic frame?
diesel on May 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Also, some of the lower parts in this rifle kit do not fit the Polymer80 lower. You should order the Polymer80 LPK for the lower receiver. I had to. I know, extra money, but it's the only way to get it to work. Most of the lower parts in this rifle kit only work in the PSA lower.
Can the front sight be removed is it on there permanently?
DS1992 on Feb 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It can be removed by driving out the 2 tapered pins. However it is also the gas block, so if you remove the sight you will have to replace the gas block with a different type
Will AR-15 lower fit a .308 upper?
Hacksaw on Nov 11, 2018
You need the PSA .308 Lower, or an 80% Lower with matching LPK. The PSA LPK will not fit any other .308 Lower Receiver except for the Hammer, Trigger and Safety
So what else do i need to buy to make this gun kit complete?
Jesse S on Mar 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You'll need a PSA stripped lower receiver. I'm pretty sure this PSA kit will not work with other manufacturers AR 10 lowers.

Will this kit work with an Anderson stripped lower?
Gabriel G on Dec 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Only if it is a 308 AM-10 lower. Apparently Anderson no longer sells AM-10 stripped lowers. If you have one it should work. PSA has stripped 308 lowers and will work with the PSA rifle kit.
Will this fit on a aero precision m5 308 lower?
Adobo on May 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No , Tried to pin on PSA Gen 2 upper to same aero precision lower and would not fit.
I want to install a scope, or thermal. Can the front sight be removed?
Carl S on Apr 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I had same thought as you. The front sight is also the gas block. It can be replaced with a low profile gas block, but it could be costly and a pain. You’d be surprised. I mounted a 4x9-30 Nikon scope on this upper and it does not even come close to showing in lens field. I’d just leave front site.
can you ship this kit to ny?
Richard E on Jun 4, 2019
This is my first 308 build. Which magazine works with this kit? 308 short / long or 7.62X51?
Raymond H on Jun 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I use the Magpul SR25/M110/AR10 magazines and have never experienced any problems at all. The Magpul magazines will serve you very well.
Is this kit compatible with a 308 lower (DPMS gen 1) from 80percentarms?
Stanley W on Jan 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Unlike AR-15 the AR-10 may have slight differences between manufacturers for this reason I would only recommend using PSA uppers and PSA lowers for the AR-10 together. They are not all standardized like the AR-15.
Are these handguards compatible with drop in AR handguards from Magpul or Midwest?
Eddie on Jun 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I can tell you that they are compatible with the original Colt SP-1 AR-15.
Is the buffer tube mil spec or commercial?
Jacob S on May 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The buffer tube is mil-spec
Will this upper work with a aero precision m5 lower?
William on May 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This upper should work with the m5, but a ar10 is not the easiest to build. You will have to purchase some of the special parts for the lower (mag release button, bolt catch and possibly a screw). The best thing I have learned about the ar10 is stick with one brand for everything. The m5 parts kit has all the needed parts for the lower. I just finished building the aero m5
Will this fit a PSA gen 1 lower?
benjamin f on May 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yea. As long as you stick with PSA you won’t have problems. The gen 2 differences are very subtle and don’t effect fit.
I just ordered this kit. What would you say is the best mag to get to use on it?
Chase S on Jun 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Magpul PMAG 20 LR/SR GEN M3 7.62 NATO or this same magazine in the capacity that your state requires or fits your needs.
Do I need a dpms lower ar the Armalite lower to get the correct fit?
Lonnie J on Jun 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You need a PSA PA-10 lower.
I have a Modulus arms 80% is this upper compatible with it?
Marlin S on Jun 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Most likely not since there's no standard for the AR10/ LR/SR platform. Your best bet is to go with a PA-10 lower.
What is a good rear sight to put on this? Thanks
travis on Jun 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: A Magpul mbus rear sight is a good option.
Will this upper kit fit a aero precision 308 stripped lower??
308boss on Jun 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Most likely not since there's no standard for the AR10/ LR/SR platform. Your best bet is to go with a PA-10 lower.
Will this work with a Colfax tactical CT-308 lower receiver?
David N on Sep 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Most likely not since there's no standard for the AR10/ LR/SR platform. Your best bet is to go with a PA-10 lower.
Does it have a heavy barrel ?
Is it piston driven ?
Is it a gas block ? If so does the block have a pin to keep it permanently fix ?
I m I using the correct terminology ? Did you get the meaning or understand the questions ?
Thank you in advance , sounds like a pretty good deal
I may buy in a few days
Tyrell M on Aug 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This kit is not piston driven, it has a gas block and gas tube, and the gas block has a roll pin to hold the gas tube in place, and set screws to hold the gas block in place.
I had a thread cap and screw come with my psa ar10, what is is for?
Gregory R on Jul 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Would that be the small screw for the bolt catch pin? Most AR10 have threaded bolt catch pins instead of roll pins like AR15
Is this an 80% kit?
Billy D on May 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, this is not an "80% kit" as the modern lingo goes. This is a build kit that is a complete weapon minus the lower receiver which holds the serial number. An 80% kit would be a full set of parts for a weapon which requires some level of machining to finish the main component (which in an AR type rifle would be the lower receiver).
Is it safe to spot nato 7x62 Millayo in this 308 win barrel ?
Carl B on Apr 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have a 308 barrel AR10 and use 7.62 ammo all the time when shooting for fun. When I need accuracy I use 168 gr 308 HPBT

Hey, PSA! Do You Have a QC Department?
Just assembled this on to my PSA Gen 2 stripped lower. First, the good news. The lower and lower parts kit went together quickly and easily. Everything fit well, although the trigger and hammer pins seemed to slide in very easily. Not loose, but easier than I remember them ever going into a receiver.

Once assembled the lower mated perfectly to the PSA Gen 2 mid-length up (already assembled).

Now the bad news. I noticed the handguards didn't line up with the upper receiver rail. I tried to fix the problem but couldn't. I removed the handguards and noticed the gas tube was improperly installed (as you can see in the photo). The tube was sitting on top of one of the crown points on the barrel lock nut instead of in the groove.

I removed the gas tube roll pin tried to remove the gas tube. No go. It was pushed up too hard into the underside of the delta ring assembly.

So, only option is to move the barrel nut one way or the other to loosen the gas tube. I don't know who the knucklehead was that assembled this upper but he should be fired. I had to use a 26" breaker bar to break the barrel free. I had to exert so much force on the barrel nut it rounded off several of the crown points. Seriously?

I finally got the gas tube free. There was a small dent/crimp where it was partially crushed by the improper alignment of the tube with the barrel nut. It was also slightly bent at the roll about a few degrees at the gas block end. I gently straightened it out and properly reassembled the tube into the properly torqued and aligned lock nut.

The other problem was the ejection port cover. It wouldn't close at all because the steel piece that holds the detent/spring was hitting the side of the ejection port opening. About a half-dozen swipes with a small file solved the problem.

My question is, why wasn't this caught in QC? Completely unacceptable.

Not expecting it to function I was pleasantly surprised when I fired 6 rounds thru it. Functioned perfectly.

It's a shame PSA allowed this to get out. This is an exceptional value. But it's just as easy to build a rifle properly as it is to build it improperly.

I gave the kit 2-stars mostly because of the lousy workmanship. It's probably better than that in total. But now I need a new gas tube and barrel nut. I could've returned it, I suppose, just to have the same guy "fix" it. I'd rather do it right myself.

Great gun for the price
Got this kit for $350 and a PA-10 lower for $80. Couldn’t believe I now have an AR-10 style rifle for less than $500. I had it put together in less than an hour, and it looks great. Can’t wait to shoot it.

I highly recommend this build kit. One would be hard pressed to find a better rifle on this platform
I paired this build kit with a PSA lower. And, the fit and finish was excellent. There is a little play between the upper and lower. But, very little. I paired this rifle with a ATN 4K day/night optic, and couldn’t be happier.

A step above the gen one!
A very nice step above the first gen. The fit, and finish is much better. The gun shoots more true. Overall I'm very happy with the second green pa10. I owned the first gen, and had nothing but problems. This gen fixed all those, and then some. On top of running great, it's half the cost of other brands. Would definitely recommend.

I have 2 of these and they shoot great. One with the fixed site and the other with the M-lock hand rail. Both were over gassed from the start. The one with the fixed sight I was able to tame it with a extra heavy buffer. The other with a adjustable gas block . They both shoot well. I have taken 2 deer and a couple coyotes with them. The polymer 80 lower does fit the Pa10 but the curve at the rear is not an exact match, but that is only cosmetic.
Pa 10 upper on a Polymer 80 Lower
Pa-10 stock. did change out the hand guard to a Magpul M-lock mid length.
that fits perfectly.

Great build
I have wanted a semi-auto .308 for a long time, but did not want to have to sell my first born to be able to afford one. After acquiring one of your lowers I ordered this upper kit and assembled the rifle. I have to report that the rifle functioned flawlessly and was easy to sight in. I first sighted in fixed sights and then a Bushnell 4-18 AR series scope. The results were satisfactory under less than ideal conditions. The main thing is the increase in power over the .223 counterpart on the same basic platform. Once I have time to tinker with this rifle, I’m sure my results will improve. I am very happy with this product and the increased firepower the .308 platform provides. Palmetto offers great products at affordable prices so more people can enjoy owning and shooting the AR platform in a variety of calibers. Thanks boys and girls!
