The RCBS gold medal match series dies work in tandem with these interchangeable, self-centering neck bushings to allow exact neck tension adjustments during the reloading process. By fine-tuning the fit between the bullet and case, reloaders can reduce case neck work hardening and extend the overall lifespan of their brass while increasing precision on every shot. Consistent neck wall thickness is essential, which is why high-quality brass is required. The correct bushing size can be calculated in two ways - either subtract 0.002 - 0.003 inches from the loaded cartridge's outside neck diameter or double the neck wall thickness, add bullet diameter and subtract 0.001 inches. For ideal customization, RCBS advises keeping neck bushings within a couple of sizes of your target diameter.
