Features
Redding offers two specialized tools for the removal of flash hole burrs, a crucial step in ensuring reliable ignition during reloading. These burrs can cause erratic ignition if not properly addressed, which is why Redding's tools are designed to provide precision and consistency. The universal tool is ideal for calibers ranging from .22 to .338 and is specifically designed for cases with standard (.080 inches) flash holes. It features a built-in stop that controls the cutting depth by locating on the inside web of the case, ensuring precise burr removal. A unique feature of this tool is the cross-drilled hole, which provides chip relief, enhancing the tool's efficiency and longevity. It uses standard pilot stops for 3/16 inches mandrels. The small tool is designed for .17 and .20 caliber cases, as well as those with smaller (.060 inches) flash holes. Unlike the universal tool, this tool does not have a built-in stop to control the cutting depth. Instead, the operator must control the depth manually, using small pilot stops for 9/64 inches mandrels. This tool ensures effective burr removal for cases with smaller flash holes, giving reloaders the flexibility to handle a variety of calibers with precision.
