The Redding Premium Handgun Expander Die is designed with a unique series of processes that set it apart from other dies. It begins with a radius at the base, allowing for smooth and easy entry into the case mouth. A parallel expander section follows, expanding and trueing the case internally, creating a perfect bearing surface for the bullet as it's seated. This process also improves uniformity in bullet pull and ensures more consistent start pressure. The die then features a small step that aligns the bullet with the centerline of the cartridge case, positioning it perfectly for proper contact with the seating micrometer. This alignment adds further uniformity during the seating process. Finally, a flare is applied to the case mouth, especially useful for cast bullets, preventing lead shaving during seating and ensuring a smoother, more precise reload.
