The magazine will not lock into the pistol? Any ideas? I put six rounds in and try to load the clip....it does not lock in?
Russ C on Aug 7, 2018

Couldn't be happier at the price point!
I've had my eye the LCP for years and finally pulled the trigger when PSA offered them at this price. For $211 all in, (pistol, shipping, sales tax, and FFL fee) I feel like it's a great deal on a solid little pistol.

The pistol ships with an instruction manual, chamber flag, plastic covered metal wire type gun lock with two keys, a magazine with the extended grip installed, as well as a flat floor plate for the magazine.

I purchased two LCP II magazines at my local range, they function perfectly in the original LCP (which is what you are buying). They do not hold the slide open after the last shot, which is not a malfunction since the LCP does not have this feature.

My LCP fed and functioned a variety of .380 normal pressure ammunition (Ruger states not to fire +P ammunition in this pistol) at the range, with no jams or failures to fire in 100+ rounds of 90 to 94 grain weight projectiles.

I was surprised by the lack of "bite" which many pistols of this size exhibit. The trigger has a long take-up with a heavy pull, to be expected of this type of pistol. The pull and trigger break is consistent, so with a within a couple of magazines I was satisfied with the groupings I was able to achieve at seven yards.

The only caveat I would have for anyone is that the as supplied fixed sights are darn near impossible to see (for a mid-forties guy, anyway) unless in well-lit situations with a high background contrast. Given the size, caliber, and intended use of the pistol, I don't necessarily see this as a design flaw, just be forewarned that in low-light situations, the sights are going to be essentially useless.

I ordered a laser sight that attaches to the hand-guard from another vendor because of my inability to use the use the supplied iron sights in low-light conditions.

Overall, I really like the pistol. It arrived within two days of order at my FFL dealer, and I feel like it's a great value for the price.

keeps jamming
I just bought this and shot 100 rounds at Palmetto State Armories shooting range and it rammed more than a dozen times. Not happy at all with this weapon. It was for my wife's purse and I can't be sure that it will protect her when she may need to use it to save her life.

Got the bad apple this time
My 2nd lcp. The first came with a viridian green laser and functioned appropriately once broke in. This one has yet to run a full mag without multiple failures. Now the trigger is locked up. I will have it repaired by ruger and then sell it. If it can't function with out fail I can't trust it with my life...

Not the best pocket pistol
I can't hit bullseye with it. The thing is so tiny, I can't grip it correctly. I prefer the Taurus TCP .380. I can grip it. Both are reliable and seem well made.

Worth the price.
Nice little 380 pistol. At $170, a great little backup/rainy day stash pistol. Buy some extended 15 rd mags for a normal firing grip...the 7-8 rounders make for a cruddy 3-fingered firing grip.
