Developed specifically for the 6.8mm SPC round, Sierra's 115 grain hollow point boat tail added yet another option to the entire range of 0.277 inches caliber cartridges. A good ballistic shape combined with relatively light weight provides terrific velocity potential. These features make the 115 grain Matching an ideal choice for target shooting at short to medium ranges. Suitable for cartridges from the 6.8mm SPC through the 270 Weatherby Magnum. While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, Matching and Tipped Matching bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although Matching and Tipped Matching bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts.
