**The lens on this red dot is intentionally titled and absolutely necessary for the sight to function. Inside the housing of a reflex sight, a tiny LED emitter sits at the base, slightly behind the glass. Because the light source is located below your line of sight, a perfectly vertical piece of glass would bounce the red light straight down into the housing or off at a useless angle. In addition, the lens is curved to act as a collimator taking spreading rays of light from the LED and producing a parallel line.
