Features

The numerous and useful features, such as the infinitely adjustable ground spur, adjustable lateral Picatinny rails (Mil. Std. 1913) for mounting tactical devices and the fixable Versa-Pod are just a few of the important helpers for the perfect precision shot. The Steyr SSG 08 is a high-precision, high-performance rifle that was designed to the specifications of Austria's EKO COBRA anti-terrorism unit, and was developed for professional applications in demanding environments. The free-floated, cold hammer forged barrel comes standard with an effective recoil-reducing muzzle break. The SSG 08 features a folding hard eloxal-coated aircraft aluminum stock with an adjustable rear monopod, cheekpiece and recoil pad. The pistol grip is configurable with a choice of interchangeable backstraps to adjust for hand size and optimized grip. The action is topped with a 20 MOA Picatinny rail, while the forend allows for short Picatinny rails on both sides. The underside of the stock also houses a UIT rail designed for accessories such as a handstops and bipod mounts. Like all Steyr bolt-action rifles, the SSG 08 is built on the renowned SBS action.
