The Pro Hunter II SX incorporates Steyr's cutting-edge Safe Bolt System (SBS). It boasts a durable green synthetic buttstock adorned with polymer inlays and an aluminum bedding block.
Its cold hammer-forged barrel is renowned for delivering exceptional accuracy, complemented by Steyr's patented Mannox finish that provides robust protection against wear and corrosion for the outer metal components. This finish acts as an impervious shield, guarding against damage from rain, moisture, sweat, and blood.
The SBS system by Steyr showcases a distinctive 3-position roller tang safety discreetly positioned behind the rear of the bolt. The SBS bolt, featuring four forward locking lugs requiring a 60-degree rotation to unlock, incorporates multiple gas ports. A patented safety bushing enhances protection against unforeseen excessive chamber pressure and escaping gases. Steyr has rigorously tested the bushing with high-pressure proof rounds at 120,000 psi without any damage to the rifle.
Additionally, this model introduces an ingenious 2-stage magazine release. It enables users to safely close the bolt without chambering a round when the magazine is indexed to its lowest position, eliminating the need to remove the magazine from the rifle.
