The SBS bolt is designed with four forward locking lugs, requiring a 60-degree rotation to unlock the bolt, along with multiple gas ports. Enhanced safety is ensured by a patented safety bushing, offering protection against unexpected, excessive chamber pressure and escaping gases. Steyr has rigorously tested the bushing with high-pressure proof rounds at a level of 120,000 psi, demonstrating the rifle's resilience without sustaining any damage.
