Reccomend the TRL1-HL over this one under 150 yards
I have been using the TRL1-HL for about a year on my handgun and long guns around the farm. The output is amazing. Out to 200 yards you can see clearly and have a 100 yd wide area lit up. I was anxious to try the TRL1-HP and the $99 was the best I had seen so I got it to see what it would do. I have not taken it to a longer field but at 200 yards it is extremely bright. The problem is that you only have a small 10yard circle of light the rest is too dim to see what is there. At 100 yards a 12' circle of light and so on the outer circle of light is too dim to see what might be hiding. The HL model lights a large area clearly though not as bright as the pinpoint of light with the HP. Like I said maybe from 200-400yds it would be useful for taking game or seeing who may be there to do harm but I'll stick with the HL inside that.
blinding and useful on the pot farm in CO
Title pretty much says it all. I am a security consultant for the marijuana industry. I run this light on a PSA AR at work. It provides me with positive target identification be it of two or four legged deer lions tigers and bears. I use it in conjunction with at 3-9x42IR
