The .17 Cal patch jag is specifically engineered for cleaning .17 Cal barrels, including, but not limited to, the .17 Mach 2, .17 HMR and .17 WSM. These patch jags apply a solvent- or bore paste-treated patch against the barrel and into the rifling to mechanically remove carbon, plastic and copper deposits from the bore. For demonstration purposes, we used this patch without solvent and pushed it through the barrel once. As evidenced, these jags outperform any other jag available on the market. The proof is on the patch. Beyond cleaning, our jags are also suitable for oiling the bore for storage and removing oil before firing. Our rifle jags are compatible with all rods featuring standard 5x40 threads. Due to the tight fit of this jag in most .17 Cal bores, it is crucial to ensure the patch is centered on the bore. An off-center patch may result in the jag bending or breaking. Therefore, the use of a bore guide is recommended. Additionally, we suggest purchasing USP bore paste and round TCS patches for .17 Cal and .20 Cal rifles. TCS patches are optimally sized for our jags, whereas other patches may cause fitting issues. Square patches should not be used with our jags.
