The forward-hinged, quick-release cover, equipped with a rear cam lock release button, maintains the AK's field stripping capabilities and ensures a dependable return to zero after reassembly. This quick-release hinge also accommodates longer scopes without the need for quick-detach bipods. Available in various configurations for standard pattern AK, Yugo, C39 and Krinkov rifles, the Gen 3 Dog Leg scope rail is part of an integrated system that includes the Gen 3 Hand guard. This hand guard elevates functionality, modularity and durability, featuring a co-planar top rail that keeps all accessories - such as optics, night vision or thermal devices - perfectly aligned. Additionally, the Gen 3 Hand guard is M-LOK compatible for enhanced versatility. The semi-floated hand guard design minimizes barrel disturbance, while generous ventilation holes ensure rapid cooling and reduced weight. Essential AK functionality is preserved, allowing for the installation of the cleaning rod and bayonet. Designed to fit AKM type stamped receiver rifles with a standard smooth front trunnion, it includes a barrel clamp for a standard barrel diameter of .670 inches +/- .010 inches, measured 1/4 inches before the rear sight block. Please note, it is not compatible with Yugo, milled receiver or bulged front trunnion type rifles.
