Vihtavuori N560 rifle powder is particularly well-suited for enhancing the power of large and magnum calibers, such as the .270 Winchester, 6.5-284, 7mm Remington Magnum, 7mm Weatherby Magnum and even the .416 Rigby. This powder is also an excellent choice for handloading the .338 Lapua Magnum when using lighter bullets of 250 grain or less. The N560 is a tubular powder with relatively large grains, measuring 1.4mm in length and 1.2mm in diameter. It has a slow burn rate within the range of our rifle powders, positioned between the N160 and N165. While similar to the N100 series, the N560 has added nitroglycerine to enhance its energy content. The 500 series high energy powders are primarily used in rifle cartridges where additional energy is required to achieve higher loading densities and increased muzzle velocities, all within the limits of maximum pressure. This allows for improved velocity at the same pressure compared to, for example, the N165. The N560 is commonly employed in big game hunting and sniper ammunition, particularly for larger caliber rifles. In long-distance hunting scenarios with appropriate calibers and bullets, the N560 magnum powder demonstrates exceptional performance.
