The barrel vise accommodates barrels with diameters ranging from 0.775 inches - 1.375 inches. Its powder-coated finish is exceptionally durable, providing a strong grip on barrels without causing any damage or leaving marks, regardless of whether the barrel is blued or stainless steel. The use of additional materials such as leather, spacers, cardboard or used toilet paper rolls is generally unnecessary, except for specific manufacturers as noted below. The bolts are secured with Loctite and the maximum torque for the nuts and bolts should not exceed 50 ft-lb. It is imperative not to use an impact gun. The mounting holes have a diameter of 9/16 inches with a center-to-center spacing of 5-3/4 inches. Please note that this vise may leave marks on Cerakote or painted barrels; to prevent paint marks, it is recommended to use wraps of drywall tape or a paper towel core, with some users opting for leather as well. Additionally, caution should be exercised as the vise may crush the carbon fiber section of a carbon fiber barrel.
