Dagger and Falling Mags

That’s the only fix? The Wheaton arms barrels are suppose to be compatible. And it works with extended Glock mags but not the 15 round mags. Isn’t that strange?

Not really. You will find a variety of gen 3 parts that do not work with some gen 3 glock clones.

I’d understand if all mags didn’t work or just Glock mags didn’t work. But the exact same mags just in different capacity? I can’t figure that one out

So I ordered my dagger in June 2022 and my barrel looks like the one on the right and is stamped 9x19 on the side.

Yes. PSA repaired my Dagger’s locking block and test fired it without any issues. I’ve run 100 rounds through it so far since they sent it back and no issues. I’m planning to take it to an outdoor range and let it rip with 500 rounds on my YouTube channel.

I just received an RMA for my original PSA frame that seemed to be having locking block issues. I also just received a Daily Deal for a new PSA frame. I may be an idiot or a glutton for punishment, but I bought a second frame (I have multiple compatible slides, so eventually I want to have two fully functioning Daggers).

Looking at the frame I purchased last year and looking at the one that arrived today, the locking blocks are clearly different to the naked eye. Putting a pair of calipers on them shows some notable differences in front to back distance.

Dropping in a barrel onto a bare frame with magazine, I can visually notice a difference in the clearance between the old frame (no clearance) and the new frame (small but observable clearance).

One of my slides/barrels is a generic Gen 3 compatible and the other is 100% PSA. At the end of the day if other parts aren’t compatible, or may be incompatible depending on tolerance stackup, I hope eventually PSA posts a disclaimer, similar to how they call out specific triggers as not working.

my purple lone wolf barrel worked without any issues with both magpul and glock magazines in an otherwise stock dagger… even shot +p out a korean stendo just fine.

edit: the only issues i ever seen are the same ones you encounter with a stock glock gen 3… however after a few hundred rounds it doesn’t matter even if you limp wrist it…

If you examine the magazines closely….you will see a slight difference in their design. Typically where the barrel feed ramp tilt’s down during cycling a round. Often it’s the tilting down of the barrel that pushes the mag out of the pistol. Use a small file and gently remove just enough material from the mag to clear the tilting feed ramp and the shouldn’t pop out any more.

Thanks I actually did notice this just the other day as I put a mag in and placed the barrel in the locking block without the slide on. I went through all the mags and filed down the area that was touching the barrel. There is a small lip of plastic that wraps over the metal interior shell of the mag. I just trimmed all that off with a knife and filed it down smooth. I haven’t had a chance to go to the range and test yet. But thank you for confirming this has worked before.

Dude…I Dry Fire So Much The Wife Thinks I Have An Issue Because The Gun Is Always With Me lol. Still Squishy As Heck. But I Love My Dagger, Still Getting All The Kinks Out. I Do Have An Issue With Pmag And OEM Glock Not Locking Back After Last Round. Glock Was Solid, But Then After A Few Boxes Same As Pmag :/. The Falling Mag Happened To Me Twice, But Idk If It Was Me Or Not. Gotta Shoot More.

lol. i know the feeling about the wife thinking you’re mental. mine does that too… in fact she got so annoyed with the clicking she told me no more dry firing while shes around. so i cant do it now when shes home awake while we watch tv together.

I have had mag drop problems with aftermarket barrels but not with PSA barrels. So I took a stone to the feed ramp to shorten it up a bit on one of my aftermarket ported barrels, and it worked great! Still feeds great and no more dropping mags.

@johnmcgrath589 Welcome to the forums!!! Make yourself at home and post up!

I had some of the same, including the 27rd mag poping out while firing. Sent it in to PSA, no charge shipping there and back. They resolved the issues under warranty. Contact PSA to get it resolved.

Wow. I’m sad to see that new Dagger buyers are still experiencing this problem with mags dropping while firing. I thought PSA had supposedly fixed this problem a long time ago and I was told it was “just a limited # of barrels that were out of spec”. But looks like it is happening with newly shipped ones. I just brought my Dagger out to the range again and it seems to do fine with the Glock OEM mags and the Pmag 15 rounders, but it still drops KCI mags and ETS mags to the point where I won’t even use them for the range. While the obvious thing is “just use Glock OEM mags”, it still is a big confidence shake up in the gun; you wonder if you carry it, “would that happen at the worst time possible?”, Also, my trigger pin still visibly walks out to the right side even after 50 rounds - and this is with the replacement pin PSA sent me. I so want to like this gun but with how long this issue is going on for people is not good PSA.
