Just be aware that you might have engagement issues, binary fire issues orpossibly drop safety issues. Verify everything before shooting. Using the Dagger’s trigger bar eliminates those issues
Shouldn’t the trigger bar be the same, just black annealed and polished for smoother operation?
What trigger shoe is that? This is exactly what I would like to do… Install a flat faced trigger shoe on the existing Dagger trigger bar. Thanks.
Aftermarket trigger bars are all different in many tolerances.
SS elite
Thanks. I’m not familiar with them but googling it now. Do you have a preferred vendor to purchased just the trigger itself (to attach to PSA trigger bar).
Ah, I see now Shadow Systems (I was thinking Stainless Steel lol). Please do let me know if you have a preferred vendor for the shoe only.
I don’t have a vendor for the shoe only. I had picked up several from SS owners that wanted something different in their guns.
My Dagger has at least 100 rounds through it. Shot a G19 Gen 5 next to it and could not believe how much better the Glock was…no grit, clean and crisp.
Take that dagger to 250. My trigger gets consistently better.
The Dagger OEM trigger isn’t terrible. It isn’t all that great, either. Polishing it helps smooth it out a great deal, but as far as I can tell, it’s a lot like a Glock trigger because it pretty much is a Glock trigger.
I’ve got a lot of time and work on these things with two Daggers in my safe (one is stock and the other is modified), and having said that, it’s still very serviceable out of the box. I’m considering putting a Shadow Systems trigger in one of mine just because I prefer the bladed safety shoe to the hinged S&W-style trigger shoe. I want to repeat that the ZEV trigger has really been a positive for me, but YMMV.
The Dagger does, however, to my mind represent the best value for the money in defensive pistols. You get way more product for the same amount money spent on a Taurus or a Glock in a pawn shop that’s been severely abused.
Wheaton Arms “Pro Carry” trigger is awesome in the Dagger. And it’s affordable!
I have gutted my Dagger. It now has the Shadow Systems trigger, trigger bar, connector and trigger housing. It functions fine and is noticeably smoother. I like it so much that I did the same thing with a Gen 3 G26.
The secret to Dagger upgrades are the PSA upper/lower sales. I originally bought a plain jane gray uncut dagger on sale with a bag and bunch of mags with free shipping for an unbelievable sale price (maybe 2 year ago) Then a year later maybe, PSA had a cut slide sale with free shipping I couldn’t pass up because prior to this they had no cut slides. Then I said to myself Dagger is a great backup EDC but thats it, no more $$ buying Dagger. Then a few months later PSA has a ridiculously low price sale on dagger frames in different colors, and now I can hear the extra slide I had in parts calling me from the box, “please make me a whole gun”. PSA doesn’t need upgrades, its got a ruthless marketing strategy.

Case and point PSA got me x2 sucked into the sale/free shipping on their MOE AR Pistol lowers for $138 to take care of 2 lose P-uppers I’ve had laying around to avoid suspension of construction. You know the fiendish act of snapping a loose P-upper on a rifle lower because they’re in the same zip code. Almost makes me feel guilty for giving my Oath of Office to the Constitution.
Back to toppic, Dagger Trigger Upgrades…
You know the only thing that chaps me on my Dagger, is the blister the trigger guard gives my middle finger. Ive had to dremel more space in there.
My compact frame Dagger does that but my full size-s frame doesn’t seem as bad. I just wrote it off as a case of “Glock Knuckle”. Lol
Hey, has anyone tried the Shadow Systems Elite polymer trigger in their Dagger and if so, what did you think of it? Seems like an inexpensive mod but I didn’t know if it was worth doing. I see they make an aluminum version also but it’s nearly 5x the price.
There’s a couple mentions in this thread.
