so it’s a break-in thing.
I had the same problem. Very first round fired in new Rock did what you described. Thought it needed breaking in and perhaps load the mags to less-than-capacity. Seven trips to the range and it never cycled more than 2 rounds without having this problem. Finally decided it was time to have PSA’s help.
Completed all the hoops to get it looked at by PSA. They returned it to me an indicated there was a bit of brass stuck in the extractor. They cleared it, test fired and returned it.
I took it to the range. Had 4 of these failures in 46 rounds. Here are pics. In my opinion, the brass stuck in the ejector was a symptom. I think the root problem is something shearing brass off the case. Trying again to get help in fixing my Rock. Thought maybe someone here could comment about the pictures and what could be causing it. I really, really want the Rock to work so I can enjoy it as much as my 4 Daggers!

Hope you get it working soon. At least PSA holds to their warranty agreement.

Have you dry fired it at all with snaps?
I also had problem with AE red box, two bullets not fully seated and fell out when cycling in

I have the same issue with mine, exactly. 3 types of ammo through her and they all hang up!
FWIW they got mine fixed up and back to me within a week or two. Now it runs fine.

Whelp, I guess we all helped to troubleshoot that issue. Perhaps it will be addressed before future purchases.
I recently fired my 5.7 Rock for the first time. I had 3 failures to return to battery. And also tried some FN SS195LF that printed so high it was completely off the target face.
The pistol has been cleaned and properly lubed. Federal AE worked fine. I fired a total of 90 rds. The failure to return to battery was with SS195LF and Fiocchi 40gr V-Max.
Straight-walled bottleneck cartridge - any little speck of crud left in the chamber or on the outside of the cartridge, or case defect will Absolutely stop it from reaching battery.
The spring and slide weighting are also a delicate balancing act on this hybrid recoil-blowback action.
I am pretty sure that my problem is extractor related because if I push on the back of the slide, it goes into battery without much effort. It would be nice if the extractor was easier to remove for a bit of polishing.
When I first fired my 5.7 Rock, I had 8 failures to return to battery out of about 100 shots fired.
I removed the extractor and polished the front face of the extractor and also removed a small polymer buffer that was inside the extractor spring similar to the buffer used in the AR15 extractor spring. The extractor spring alone seems to be heavier than needed.
Anyway, after shooting 300 rounds of Federal AE, Fiocchi Tipped Hollow Point,and FN - SS195LF, I have had no failures to return to battery or ejection problems.
Also,the trigger pull is much better after 400 rounds fired.

I fired another 3 mags through it Sunday without problems. If the issue shows up again, I will contact PSA.

I was having the same issue, 4 different types of ammunition. I sent it in and they immediately (as in day they received it) diagnosed it as an extractor issue. They replaced the extractor and said it was working fine now. I suspect with that quick of a diagnosis/fix it’s a known issue.
I’d send the pistol in. PSA pays for shipping also.
