What grade aluminum is used on this buffer tube? Is it 7075 or 6061 grade aluminum?
LEMERESE on Aug 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: 7075 and 6061 are not grades of aluminum they are different alloy variations. 7075 has a lower magnesium composition than 6061 which its mainly made of magnesium. Also it should say in the description that Its 7075 t6. You want strength look for 7075 aluminum.
Is the metal used for this receiver extension 7075-T6, which is the milspec metal, and is used in this PSA kit: "PSA AR15 7075 Buffer Tube Assembly - Logo - 508022," or is it the cheaper 6061-T6, which is not the correct milspec material, no matter if it's milled and finished to milspec dimensions? The aluminum alloy is not specified anywhere in the description of this item, unlike the previously specified true milspec kit. There will be a tensile strength difference between the two, and it does matter to some of us.

This is our mil-spec receiver extension which is 7075 aluminum.

BEST ANSWER: This question is absurd. It's just a bunch of numbers with no context! Refine your question and ask it with more detail regarding precisely what information you want
Does this come in OD?
Allan A on Aug 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It's a buffer tube! It comes in black like all the others. If you want it in another color, buy it and have it ceracoated!

Fit and installed perfectly with a Hogue stock. Did not disappoint.

Bought this with a number of other items - no issues. Very nice receiver extension kit - my Magpul CTR stock fits perfectly along with my Spike's Punisher lower. One note on the castle nut - I wish the small staking notches were a little bigger (like the Ergo) as it makes it easier to to stake the castle nut. I was able to stake two notches but not with much material from the end plate. I paid $40.99 for this kit. Not sure on the buffer weight but it feels like an H maybe an H1? No logo on the buffer. Very happy with this purchase not to mention the PSA EPT Classic Lower Parts Kit with Ambi Safety ($59.99) which has a very nice crisp trigger with no slop! It would be nice if there were options to choose different end/latch plates and buffers. Also mention the buffer weight.
