We sent an AK and an AK-V to Battlefield Vegas to see how they would stand up to the abuse.
Here's what happened.
THE AK-V
Battlefield Vegas wasted no time converting the Palmetto State Armory AK-V to Full Auto and letting it see some serious use.
Battlefield tells us that the AK-V is still working flawlessly after 2,450 rounds.
THE GF3
Up next, we have the tried and true GF3.
The Palmetto State Armory AK-GF3 is built with a forged bolt, carrier and front trunnion.
You can purchase a brand new GF3 for around $600, and it carries a 100% Full Lifetime Warranty.
So how does it hold up to one of the most premiere shooting destinations in America?
We sent a GF3 AK that Battlefield designated as AK-1.
Here's what happened:
AK-1 has performed flawlessly now through 17,025rds. AK-1 is still functioning, but the barrel just started keyholing at 17,025 rounds. AK-1 was the GF3 with a nitride barrel and Magpul Furniture that was put into service on 11/19. BFV pulled it from service on 2/3, as a customer had 6 out of 25rds keyhole, and BFV did not want customers targets to show keyholing. BFV has considered this to be the natural life cycle of this particular PSAK for their use. Keyholing is commonly caused when a barrel becomes over heated from full-auto and the shooter continues to fire. The rest of the gun is working without issue, as well as still having proper headspace. No repairs or parts were needed to be replaced on this PSAK during the 17,025rds. Please see the pictures below of the internals of the firearm.
We couldn't be happier with how well the GF3 withstood the abuse at Battlefield! We look forward to updating you soon on the progress of the AK-V.
These results make us even more excited to roll out the latest AK offerings in our catalogue during 2020.
