The .300 AAC Blackout cartridge excels in shorter barrels and provides effective subsonic performance. By optimizing the twist rate to 1:5, compared to the common 1:7 or 1:8 rates for .300 AAC Blackout, Faxon Match series Gunner barrels enhance projectile stabilization and increase energy on target. The Gunner profile is a fusion of two of the best performing barrel profiles of all time: GOVT/SOCOM and pencil. This combination leverages the durability of the GOVT/SOCOM profile with the weight savings and maneuverability of the Pencil profile. The design shifts the rifle's balance back toward the shooter's body, reducing fatigue and enhancing comfort for extended shooting, training or hunting sessions. Faxon Firearms barrels are the epitome of value and performance. Manufactured in house in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, Faxon barrels are stress relieved, air gauge tested and 11 deg target crowned to ensure superior accuracy from the start of the manufacturing process. Faxon Match series barrels are constructed from 416R stainless steel, featuring 5R rifling and have a NP3 (nickel Teflon) barrel extension for improved durability and performance. Each barrel undergoes thorough magnetic particle inspection (MPI) in house to ensure the highest quality and reliability. The barrels are finished with Nitride, further enhancing their lifespan and corrosion resistance. Every barrel is meticulously checked for headspace using precision, custom hardened PTG gauges to ensure the utmost reliability, backed by Faxon's lifetime guarantee.
