What is the difference between the ar15 and ar16 upper receiver?
Jerry H on Jan 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: There is no AR-16. The AR-15 upper comes in flat top but you can still find the old carry handle upper.
Can the front site be removed ?
Israel J on Dec 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: FSB's can be removed by drifting out the two pins holding them in place. However, this involves a barrel clamp at least, as the muzzle device must be removed and reinstalled.

BEST ANSWER: Yes. It’s part of the upper assembly.
Is the upper assembled ?
Steve G on Dec 26, 2018

H buffer or carbine buffer? Milspec buffer tube or commercial?
Jason on Jan 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The kit includes a mil spec buffer tube so any aftermarket stocks will need to be “mil spec” if you choose to change it. Iva always just seen mil spec from PSA in my many orders with them.
Can a different forearm be installed?
Larry on Jan 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes any forearm of carbine length of your choice should work just fine.
Which PSA rear sight is required for this build?
Pierce on Dec 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Most flip up rear sights should work just fine. That’s why they are adjustable.
Are the parts packaged in groups like "Trigger assembly" ect?
BigJohn on Dec 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My PSA kits have come grouped in that way. If they didn't, a quick Google will show you which part is which.

What does it take to convert 223 cal to a 22 cal?
J E on Jan 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You need a conversion kit like the CMMG - AR-15/M16 22LR BRAVO CONVERSION KITS. Simply replace the rifle’s bolt and carrier with the Bravo .22 LR conversion unit, load up the included magazine with round-nose .22 LR ammo, and you're ready to shoot.
Does this model have a dust cover and forward assist?

Will a 1.7 twist barrel be ok for all weight bullets or should I go with a 1.8 or a 1.9 with a 223 cal?
J E on Jan 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: A 1/7 barrel will stabilize 55-80 grain bullets. 1/9 will stabilize 35-75 grain so a 1/8 is kinda right there in the middle so I’d choose it. However all twist rates will be fine with the most common 55 and 62 grain rounds.

Exactly what I was looking for.
This being my first AR, I wanted somthing simple, durable, and inexpensive. This is THE best deal I found. I combined this kit, a Palmetto stripped lower, and a carry handle rear sight. I have less than $350 invested. I only have about 500 rounds through it, so I can't really can't attest to the longetivity of things like the BCG, other than to say I've had no issues so far. I like the feel of the hand guard, and mine fits tight and doesn't wobble. The adjustable stock has some play, but it's not excessive. The trigger was initially gritty and heavy, but the grittiness quickly went away. It's still on the heavy side, but it breaks clean and is predictable.
Shooting prone with a sling and Federal XM855 ammo (also purchased from Palmetto), I can consistantly group 3-4 MOA. Which is all you can ask from an inexpensive mil-spec rifle with mil-spec ammo.
Shipping time was acceptable. I placed my order on Dec. 30, had everything in hand on Jan. 8.
I'm very satisfied with this kit, and Palmetto State Armory.

Stopped listening to all the naysayers
Decided to give PSA a chance and stop being an AR snob. Purchased 2 of these kits and 2 stealth lowers for Christmas. All parts were present and even a few spares ( springs and detents ). Both rifles assembled very well and I am truly impressed with the fit, finish, and feel. There were some slight differences between the two kits specifically the BCGs and castle nuts. One BCG looked like nitride and the other looked like phosphate. One castle nut is very shiny and the other has a dull finish. But these are just cosmetics. The rifles will get some additional character added very soon.

The only downside is .... I want to purchase many more. For this price / value, why not? Stock up while the winds of freedom are still blowing strong.

First Purchase from PSA a great experience so far..
Almost didn't buy this item based on lack of reviews, and comments about missing/damaged parts and slow shipping times. Went ahead as price couldn't be beat, and this was to eventually be just a truck gun. Ordered it on 1/3/19 and it was on my doorstep on 1/10/19. Put it together in a Brownell stripped receiver after supper. Everything was in the kit in individual bags for each group, and everything fit as planned. The finish of all parts was perfect, even the internal parts. The machine work was superb, with no nicks, burrs, scratches, or dings. Now need to degrease, relube, and head for the range. The build will come in under $400. Only problem is that it looks way too nice to throw behind a truck seat. Thanks PSA!

Great buy! Can't go wrong!
Just gifted this kit to my brother for Christmas and we were all impressed! Looked it over and lubed it up with CLP and over 200 rounds of IMI 5.56, Wolf but mostly Tulammo without a hiccup until we got a stuck Tulammo case. The rifle did it's part and the extractor ripped the rim off the case, leaving it stuck until we could pound it out with a steel rod. The rifle was definitely warm and was a little dry and dirty by this time so I don't fault the rifle. This is the reason I typically don't run Tulammo as this has happened to me before with the same ammo and a different hot rifle. Also, it is definitely well gassed and I would recommend at least an H buffer, maybe more. All said, she ran like a banshee until the case got stuck.

Can’t ask for better with the price
Hard to beat the price. Got this along with a PSA stripped lower on sale. After tax and everything it was $327.00. The machining on this BCG feels and looks way more nice compared to my premium PSA bcg with a carpenter 158 bolt. It has No mpi/hpt marks on the bolt. I was skeptical about it having the 9310 bolt but I’ve put 1,000 rounds thru with no malfunction of mixed ammo. Added a PSA milspec charging handle. First 6 shots at 60yds with No adjustments at all I was chasing bullets at center mass. Very happy!

I bout this exact setup a year ago, as my first AR. I am extremely impressed, thoroughly happy with it. I have shot more than 2k rounds through it both .223 and 5.56, several brands and never had a single issue. I have since built it into a very nice looking rifle you would buy from a store, and still sitting under 1k into my build. I highly recommend this rifle to both new and experienced shooters.
